For Developers

Don’t worry, we send out the list of companies attending prior to the event, our team also screens through each attendee to make sure your employer isn’t attending.

No, although the event revolves around recruiting, it’s a chance for passive job seekers to explore what’s out there and network with other developers.

Just bring yourself and an empty stomach. If you’re more serious about switching jobs, bringing hard copies of your resume and business cards may come in handy.

To ensure quality, our events are invite only and you likely received an invite from our waitlist or you were invited by someone on our technical sourcing team.

There’s no dress code at our events. They’re designed to be casual in nature so come in whatever you’re most comfortable in.

Every event is different but they are all structured with approximately 1 hour of networking and 2 hours of rapid interviews with companies.

This allows you to meet the most amount of companies in the least amount of time.

Every event is different but there is generally a mix of global and local companies. 

Company lists are finalized a few days before the event so will generally be sent out then. 

If you didn’t get an invitation, you can apply for an invite here. This won’t guarantee you a spot as we only accept about 20% of applicants. 

Most of our events will be catered with pizza and beer with vegetarian options.

However, this can vary by host so if you have dietary restrictions we recommend eating beforehand.

While every event is different, we generally don’t accept bootcamp and academy students, interns, or anyone with less than one year of experience based on the expectations from the companies we work with. 

For Employers

We’ll provide you with a table and display placard and rating sheets at the event.To stand out many employers bring a table cloth and company banners, as well as company swag.

Every event is slightly different but all of our events have approximately an hour of networking and 2 hours of rapid interviews which ensures you talk to as many candidates as possible.

The HackerX community is over 100k+ strong but each event goes through a curated sourcing and screening process by our team to ensure quality.

It varies from city and by event but we target between 80-100 developer registrations. In some cities our turn out rate is close to 90% while in others it’s as low as 40% but we focus on quality and not quantity to ensure hires.

We’re not a recruiting firm so we don’t charge a placement fee – just a flat event fee so we can focus on the events and community. Event pricing is published here.

The success rate varies by event and depends on several variables but on average we see is 12.6% of registrants report getting hired as a result of the event which means on average there are 12 hires per event of 100.  This is significantly higher than a traditional career fair.
