Postmates is focused on providing a thriving marketplace allowing anyone to purchase anything from anywhere in their city or community and have it delivered in minutes.

We are a cross-functional team responsible for the end-to-end experiences on Android, iOS, and the web. We value and foster a collaborative environment where product, design, and engineering work together every day to build and design new features for our customers.

What will you do?

  • Build and launch consumer-facing features to millions of customers
  • Work closely with the web and mobile teams to develop new features
  • Optimize and tune existing systems for speed and performance
  • Build data pipelines and serving infrastructure required to efforts like search and recommendations
  • Work with the Infrastructure team to push our next-gen services

Technologies we use: 

  • Server: Go, Python, Elixir
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch
  • Platform: AWS, Google

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience developing horizontally scalable and fault-tolerant systems in production
  • 2+ years of experience with Go and/or Python
  • A deep understanding of one or more SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch)
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required
