Cognizant Deploys 1000 Context Engineers to Lead the Agentic AI Revolution

In a bold move that signals the next evolution of enterprise AI, Cognizant announced in August 2025 that it will deploy 1,000 Context Engineers to industrialize agentic AI across its client base. The initiative, powered by Workfabric AI ContextFabric platform, represents one of the largest dedicated AI workforce investments in the consulting industry.

The Context Engineering Revolution

CEO Ravi Kumar S articulated the strategic vision: “Every technology shift creates a services shift. In the microprocessor era, the lever was code. In the cloud era, it was workload migration. In the LLM era, the lever is context.”

Context Engineers will transform organizational workflows into actionable insights for AI agents, effectively bridging the gap between raw enterprise data and intelligent automation. This new discipline recognizes that the value of large language models depends critically on the quality and relevance of the context they receive.

GenC Fresher Hiring 2025

Alongside its senior AI initiatives, Cognizant has launched massive entry-level hiring through its GenC Fresher program for 2025 engineering graduates. The program offers competitive compensation starting at 4 LPA, with positions across Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Coimbatore, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, and Indore.
