Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Role Description
The SDET is responsible to design, develop and maintain new and existing automation frameworks, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in test regression, test coverage and automation of newly implemented functionality, and development of tools to enable QA efficiencies, Project Management, and Customer Support to form and follow quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring they are met and deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
What will your job look like?
Write test plans and test cases for assigned features.
Enhance and extend test automation frameworks
Identify quality tasks during team sprint cycle and think about testing and automation strategies and estimate test effort and implement automation for new features.
Analyze and communicate test results and defect tracking
Participate in performance and load test efforts
Assist in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments and test data
Participate in the review of QA procedures and processes and provide recommendations for improvement to eliminate redundancies in testing and improve efficiency.
Innovate in best automation, Agile and continuous testing practices by trying new frameworks and technologies on the market and recommending their use.
Mentor the team and individuals on best automation practices, design and implementation.
Report total test coverage and automated test coverage in respects to feature/product/code
Integrate automated tests with current continuous integration systems and add on as necessary, Reporting test results with builds and on demand.
Execution support for UAT, performance and production deployments
All you need is….
5 + years of relevant experience in automation test development with understanding of market leading automation tools such as Selenium and UFT
Financials industry experience and knowledge
2-3 yrs. experience in testing of SOAP and REST based webservices
Hands-on experience with writing automation test code and utilizing leading industry standard tools ( Postman, IDEs, Terminal, Selenium, SOAP UI, SOATEST, RESTAssured etc..)
Working knowledge of integrating automation scripts with ALM and Rally
Good knowledge on orchestration tools such as Jenkins
Good Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices along with experience with DevOps Tool Chain Integration
Good knowledge in UNIX and SQL
Deep understanding of automation test estimation and plaining
Having Salesforce skills would be beneficial
