What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an exciting opportunity for the right person to define, build, and lead a sector based cyber Lab IT team focused on delivering services, tools, and security to our DevSecOps and lab environments, across a high-tech engineering sector. In this role you will be responsible for delivering both effective information security policies and procedures to secure sensitive systems and data, and the systems and security of these integrated and highly technical development environments. Our team of over 7,000 engineers, analysts, developers, integrators and architects work tirelessly to create innovative technological solutions for our nation’s warfighters utilizing cutting edge tools, and approaches.

This position reports to the sector president and will be responsible for building and staffing an organization in collaboration with our sector executive leadership team. This includes data management, networks and infrastructure, IT acquisition, technology innovation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing for multiple development networks supporting multiple programs. To enable these activities, the director engages with CACI CIO leadership and sector operations leadership to thoroughly understand our mission and technology needs.

We are looking for a leader who enjoys working across multiple technical and mission specific domain organizations to execute on sweeping changes and develop solutions focused on meeting our external mission needs. You will lead and support a variety of our engineering teams throughout the Sector in delivering tools and service platforms to end-user programs, define cyber security process design, and execute on system hardening in response to vulnerability evaluations. You will be the central force to guide the sector’s IT in delivery of internal IT networks and systems compliant with DOD Information Assurance requirements. You will have the ability to work and collaborate with individuals and organizations from across CACI’s business and operational support groups.

More About the Role:

The person that fills this position will be supporting three core missions: delivery of high-reliability technology services, IT Oversight and Guidance, and IT strategic planning. Duties include the following:

  • Act as the Sector’s representative with respect to inquiries from customers, partners, and corporate officers regarding the Sector’s security strategy.
  • Provide leadership for all security incidents and act as primary control point during significant information security incidents.
  • Oversee the selection testing, deployment, and maintenance of security hardware and software products as well as outsourced arrangements.
  • Manage a staff of employees responsible for Sector’s security, ranging from network technicians managing firewall devices to security guards.
  • Balance security needs with the Sector’s strategic business plan, identify risk factors, and determine solutions to both.
  • Develop security policies and procedures that provide adequate business application protection without interfering with core business requirements.
  • Provide, in collaboration with the corporate CIO, guidance, direction, coordination, and leadership for the Sector’s resources to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure Information Security.
  • Plan and test responses to security breaches, including the possibility for discussion of the event with customers, partners, or corporate officers.
  • Support corporate officers as the Sector’s representative when dealing with customers and law enforcement agencies while pursuing the sources of network attacks and information theft by employees.
  • Implement best practices for information assurance policies, plans, utilization, security, and evaluation of information systems requirements
  • Partner with corporate cyber security and other functional staff to deliver engineering support to our business.

The following highlights some responsibilities which will be carried out in our Cyber Operations Director opportunity:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • The Cyber Operations Director must have excellent interpersonal and written communications skills, solid knowledge of electronic and site security issues, and a firm understanding of the Sector’s business requirements.
  • The Cyber Operations Director must also be able to stay abreast of any new developments in the rapidly changing security environment to avoid serious and/or costly mistakes as well as focus and determine on what actions could and should be carried out for the Sector’s infrastructure at a given time.
  • In addition, while selling the project, the director’s leadership abilities and communication skills will come into play to strike a balance between business and security requirements and persuade executives to approve any necessary security projects.
  • This position requires a minimum of 10 years of information security experience within the Federal Contracting space.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with diverse, multi-domain, distributed program teams.
  • At least 7 years of highly specialized experience in one or more information, computer, or network security disciplines. These disciplines could include intrusion detection and audit analysis, public key infrastructure, cryptography, strong authentication, risk analysis, penetration testing, and multilevel security, among others.
  • Experience with Federal and DoD cyber security standards: NIST 800-171, DFARS Clause 252-2004-7012, IC-503, and understanding of the emerging CMMC Certification.
  • Experience with MS Windows 7 and 10, and multiple Linux Operating Systems.
  • One or More IT Security credentials (i.e., Security+, Network+, or CISSP certification).
  • Thorough experience in developing enterprise IT strategies and roadmaps, working with cross-functional teams in a large organization.
  • Current government Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain to a TS/SCI clearance.
  • College Degree in a relevant field.

Work Location:

This position will be based in Herndon, Virginia and domestic travel will be required. This position allows for the flexibility to work-from-home during current circumstances.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Significant experience creating IT operational, assurance, and cyber risk documentation, drawings, and presentations using industry approaches such as DoDAF, RMF.
  • MS Office products, especially MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with configuration and security hardening in cloud service providers (CSPs) such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD Certification and Accreditation process plans, such as RMF and ICD-503, and procedures to include system categorization and the implementation of system security controls.
  • Interest in cultivating a culture of baked in security into DevSecOps environments and working with engineering teams to ensure system security requirements are addressed.
  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
