Overview
You’ll be based in one of our US offices and will be part of Cloud by McKinsey. This group brings together the best of McKinsey’s cloud capabilities to help our clients use digital technology to transform their businesses.
Our Cloud capabilities, including our recent acquisition of Candid Partners, are now under one new, unified brand name – Cloud by McKinsey. We bring the best minds in business and cloud technology to clients’ cloud transformation journeys. We are driving end-to-end value delivery, coaching and capability building, overall lower cost and higher ROI of cloud transformations, and effective collaboration with other third parties. We will continue to bring our deep industry and functional expertise to cloud projects and Candid Partners’ distinctive assets will be incorporated into the work processes, including their Matter platform, which assists in planning, provisioning and managing cloud security compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will be responsible for hands on cloud-native software development for both greenfield cloud-native development and modernizing existing enterprise class software.
You will be responsible for providing full stack application development solutions to Fortune 500 enterprises and will play a lead role in driving the design, development and implementation of software solutions leveraging modern cloud architectures.
You will create software components, modules, integrations, and create software testing implementations including unit, functional, acceptance, performance and security tests.
You will be expected to integrate and work with architectural, devops, security and operational teams to implement well architected environments.
You will also be responsible for utilizing and integrating with cloud native services to deliver a highly efficient application implementation and provide feedback during development cycles regarding technical constraints.
You will work in an agile based development environment and will implement dynamically scalable and highly available services and deploy production systems.
Lastly, you will also be responsible for helping to develop the backlog and producing accurate estimates for user stories.
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive understanding of one or more programming languages – JavaScript/Node.js (ES6), Python, Java, .Net, Ruby
Good understanding of serverless design concepts, patterns, implementation, and testing
Strong knowledge of cloud native application architecture
Basic understanding of configuring and deploying applications in Amazon/Azure/GCP
Good understanding of modern database capabilities and strategies including SQL and NoSQL systems.
Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
Ability to understand complex business problems and their intersection with software systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within development teams and with business stakeholders.
Great analytical thought process for resolving software problems
A natural enthusiasm and ability to learn cutting edge technologies
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)/ Terraform (Nice to have)
