Position Summary
Designs and develops software applications. Performs coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. Assist in creating software architecture and solving complex problems. Reviews code for pull requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This role is 100 percent in-office. A software engineer must be willing and capable to regularly learn new concepts in math, physics, and engineering. As a federal contractor, this company complies with all required federal regulations including those for accurate time keeping. Timesheets are expected to be filled-in on a continuous basis with perfect accuracy.
Technical Writing
Assist in writing user manuals and quick start guides.
Research
Work with the Engineering department or Principal Investigators to develop software features. Performs independent research to determine the best approach for the given set of requirements. Reviews proposed approach with SR or Lead Software Engineer.
Required Proficiencies
C#, .NET, WPF, Git, SQL, Entity Framework, Precalculus
Recommended Proficiencies
Embedded Systems, Electricity and Magnetism, ASP.NET, Linear Algebra, Calculus 2, Javascript, Jenkins, Unreal Engine, Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality
Minimum Qualifications
Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other STEM
3+ years STEM job experience
1+ years software engineering experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Able to lift 50 lbs
