About the Job
Demand IQ is a solar eCommerce software that enables homeowners to purchase rooftop solar installations online through solar provider websites. Demand IQ dramatically improves the solar buying process by giving homeowners the peace of mind that they are getting a fair and transparent deal. Solar providers see significant increases in conversion rates and sales efficiencies. We are looking for a highly motivated senior full-stack engineer to drive the development and delivery of existing and future web apps and APIs in our growing product portfolio. In the immediate term, you will be responsible for interfacing with an offshore development team to learn our existing systems. In the long-term, you’ll learn and grow with the technical team to build a scalable technology infrastructure and enable Demand IQ’s international expansion.
As an engineer coming to the team, you’ll influence the environments, tools, and infrastructure used. You’ll have the opportunity to learn a bunch of new stuff, explore cutting edge tech, and build things from scratch that have high impact.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement rich, modern web applications built for security, scalability, and reliability.
Code and test system components; participate in code and design reviews
Demonstrate ownership of end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration
Work closely with other engineers to architect and develop the best technical architecture and approach
Help build and enforce development processes and standards
Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to ownership and your peers in the executive leadership team
Growth mindset and ability to rapidly learn new technologies and concepts to meet the needs of our customers
About You
4+ years developing, documenting, and securing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs in Python/Django, Node, or equivalent
2+ years developing rich user interfaces using modern web frameworks such as React
Experience clarifying requirements to identify front & back-end communication, scalability, and performance
Experience working on distributed or remote teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Nice to Have
Experience with cloud native architectures
Experience with NoSQL databases
NextJS and/or server-side rendering
Google Analytics, Google Maps, or Twilio APIs
Knowledge of the solar industry
Knowledge of test-driven development best practices

The base pay range for this position is $150,000-180,000/yr depending on experience and skillset.
