Overview

Deep learning has enormous promise, but developing deep learning models at scale remains extremely complex, time-consuming, and expensive. At Determined AI, we are working to change that: our revolutionary open source deep learning training platform enables deep learning engineers to train better models in less time, to seamlessly share GPU clusters, and to collaborate more effectively.

As an ML Developer Advocate, you will engage with the machine learning community to build awareness of the challenges posed by training deep learning models at scale, and how those issues can be tackled with Determined’s open source training platform. You will create technical content to educate and inspire current and future users of Determined. Your work will include speaking at conferences and meetups, writing technical blog posts, developing ML examples and integrations, and working with individual community members to understand how they are using Determined and to help make them more successful. You will directly report to the company’s CTO.

What You’ll Do

  • Help grow an enthusiastic community of users and developers around Determined’s open source projects
  • Create and give talks at machine learning conferences and user groups
  • Write technical blog posts and white papers about Determined and about the modern deep learning software ecosystem more broadly
  • Create examples, demos, and screencasts describing how Determined can be used to solve practical ML problems and how to integrate Determined with other pieces of the ML software ecosystem (e.g., Spark, Pachyderm, Airflow, Seldon)
  • Represent the open source community within the company (e.g., by communicating community priorities to the product and engineering teams)
  • Devise and track KPIs for the success and health of the Determined user community

What We’re Looking For

  • You should be enthusiastic about AI, machine learning, and data science
  • You have a technical background: an undergraduate degree in computer science is not required, but you should be able to write code (Python knowledge preferred), understand APIs, and speak fluently on technical topics with developers and machine learning practitioners
  • You should have some familiarity with machine learning, data science, and/or data engineering
  • You are a capable public speaker and have given talks at technical conferences
  • You have experience working with open source communities and engaging with open source developers
  • You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

At Determined AI, we are committed to building a team that welcomes colleagues with a diverse set of identities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, pregnancy, citizenship, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or family status, veteran status, medical condition or disability.
