About the Tech Team

Technology powers everything we do at Dialectica – from communicating with clients and finding the most relevant expert profiles in just a few minutes to indexing and categorizing thousands of pieces of information every day. To do so, we are building our own proprietary web application that automates and optimizes the delivery of our market leading services.

To date, the team consists of 40+ people across software engineering, product & design, techops, and is expected to double by the end of the year. Being part of Dialectica’s Technology Team you will have the opportunity to help rebuild the tech product according to the requirement of our internal and external clients and share the company’s vision to roll out more information services software products in the future.

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer who writes code for testing to assess software quality. You will assist in finding, organizing and documenting bugs and defects and you will primarily focus on automation. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly.

If you are good at executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you.

Indicatively, the responsibilities will include to:

  • Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans for both the developers’ own tests as well as the QA overview (intelligent coverage of unit and integration testing)
  • Formulate efficient and deterministic test scenarios
  • Build advanced automated test suites to exercise our applications using design patterns where appropriate.
  • Execute test cases and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Identify, categorize and report bugs and errors to development teams with insightful information(screenshots, error messages, stack traces, etc.)
  • Run tests in CI/CD
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

We have seen that people who successfully fit in this position have:

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer in Test
  • Knowledge of JavaScript or other programming languages such as Ruby, Python, .Net
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and UNIX-like systems and environment
  • Knowledge on working “AGILE + DevOps” process management methodology
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Comfortable with Git, Github, Gitlab or similar source control solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving attitude
  • Strong organizational skills

It’s great, but not required if you have:

  • Experience on Cypress Framework
    Working knowledge with Continuous Integration pipelines (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, etc)
