Clearance Requirements:

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The Reverse Engineer will analyze, decompose, disassemble code, perform static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debug and modify software. We’ll rely on you to be involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities. You’ll conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques. You’ll also contribute to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Analyzes, decomposes, disassembles code, performs static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debugs and modifies software
  • Work often involves software operating systems, malware or electronic signals
  • Typically programs in both C and assembly language
  • Involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities
  • Conducts vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques
  • Performs analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent of software systems
  • May prepare and presents technical reports and briefings
  • May perform documentation, vetting and weaponization of identified vulnerabilities for operational use
    Test automation
  • Learning Reverse Engineering tools, both COTS and GOTS

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Solid knowledge of operating system fundamentals (interrupts, threading, virtual memory, device drivers) and internals (memory layouts and management, binary file formats)
  • Requires solid knowledge and exposure to computer processor architectures and instructions sets
  • Solid ability to perform all responsibilities associated with the position
  • Solid ability to grasp and apply new information quickly
  • Solid ability to handle more complex assignments
  • Shows solid initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
  • Solid ability to use scripting languages such as Python, Perl, bash

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree
