Your future team
You will be part of our search department, which is fully responsible for building a scalable search engine that can serve 100 million users each month, by applying a microservice approach using Java 11, K8S, Elasticsearch 7, Redis and AWS with response time < 300ms.
You will work in a cross-functional team alongside other Backend Developers, Frontend Developers, Designers and Product Managers. Together you will own part of the Holidu Search product.
Our Tech Stack
We are writing our applications with a micro-service approach, using Java 11 with Spring Boot, running on Kubernetes.
Data storage with Elasticsearch 7, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
Streaming and queuing systems like Kafka and ActiveMQ.
Heavy usage of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git
Web and Node.js applications written with TypeScript.
Native iOS and Android Apps written with Swift and Kotlin.
Monitoring with ELK, Grafana and internally developed technologies.
Your role in this journey
You will be part of the team which is fully responsible for our search engine and all related technologies.
As a software engineer at Holidu you will be responsible for developing features from ideation to production deployment.
Daily releases are part of your role, always assisted by our QA department.
You will take part in maintaining and extending our Elasticsearch clusters.
As your features will be used by 100 million users each month, monitoring via Grafana and other tools will be part of your daily work.
You will drive projects and proactively improve our systems and the way we use them.
You will have a lot of freedom to implement your own ideas on how to improve and develop our products and systems further.
Your backpack is filled with
A degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
You have professional development experience in Java, after or during your studies.
Ideally you have worked or you have strong motivation to work with AWS, Elasticsearch, microservices, Kubernetes, and the rest of our tech stack.
