About the role

The Programmer/Business Analyst role at Hotchkis & Wiley will be part of the Investment Technology department with an emphasis on maintaining day to day Investment Technology (IT) workflows and programming. This individual will have various responsibilities within the department and will serve as a liaison to key staff and end users at the firm. This role demands solid communication skills, professional customer service skills while providing application/database support to staff at the firm, and high aptitude to learn.

About what you will do

-Review data quality/integrity and perform reconciliation daily and as neededReconciliation between trading systems and the Data Warehouse
-Reconciliation between Data Warehouse and Accounting system
-Manage, maintain, and execute processes (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually)
-Provide day-to-day technical support and maintenance of various third-party applications such as Bloomberg, Charles River, and proprietary data warehouse and reporting tools.
-Assist with various tasks and requests such as ad-hoc queries using SQL
-Understanding outcome of corporate actions and comparing them across systems
-Assist with companywide projects

-High Yield Attribution
Charles River Trading System Migration to Cloud
Data warehouse migration to Azure
-Assist with Monthly/Quarterly Reporting processes

-Documentation
Review, catalog, and inventory codebase/processes/reports/tables/etc.
Manage and Maintain Software Development Lifecycle within Azure DevOps

About the skill set of a successful candidate

B.S. and/or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience in Financial Industry/Investment Management preferred
Experience with trading and/or order management systems such as Charles River, Bloomberg (preferred but not required)
Project Management skills desiredAbility to communicate goals and tasks
Actively participate in design and review sessions with stakeholders
Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements
Scheduling/Time Management
SQL SkillsDatabase architecture, design, and maintenance
Familiarity with T-SQL advanced functions – stored procedures, table value functions, scalar value functions, etc.
Fundamental understanding of Scripting, Systems Architecture, Software Development, and Design Principals
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Data Analysis – such as Tableau, Power BI, SAS preferred
Experience with SSRS, Bloomberg, and other reporting tools desired
Solid experience with Microsoft Stack
Experience with scheduling tools such as adTempus, SQL Server Agent, Power Automate
