The IT department is responsible for the support of all IT operations conducted within the company premises, Cloud and the Wide Area Network infrastructure.

 

PeopleCert is looking for an IT Network Manager that will ensure the smooth operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. You will plan, direct, coordinate and design IT-related activities, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. You will be responsible for managing small and large scale projects, relating with systems and networks, ensuring both the highest level of the IT services provided and the delivering of the new projects on time. The ideal candidate should possess relative hands-on working experience in technical issues coupled with an understanding of business and management principles.


As an IT Network Manager, your tasks will include the following:

  • Perform periodic review of the existing network to identify areas that need to be upgraded.
  • Liaise with Senior management team as well as internal ICT teams (eg: ICT Systems and ICT support teams).
  • Manage multiple sites in multiple locations.
  • Handle IT Network vendors used by the organization.
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end IT Network operations of the organization, including planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the network operations.
  • Lead and motivate a small team by training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, appraising their performance and developing their career plans.
  • Participate in regular IT Network security review meetings with all the key stakeholders to evaluate and update on Network Team actions and take their inputs to improve implementation and adoption.


What we look for:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of hands-on networking experience and 4+ years of management experience
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus) and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • CCNA, ACMA, SolarWinds or ITIL certifications will be considered a plus.
  • Strong experience working with networking protocols and Project Management skills
  • Good understanding and experience of change management process
  • Excellent understanding of Network (Cisco) and Firewall platforms (Palo Alto, ClearPass)
  • Strong experience of Wireless Technologies Ubiquiti Networks
  • Strong Network monitoring and Capacity Management experience e.g. PRTG, SolarWinds, Syslog
  • Strong experience of Network Technologies including routing Protocols Static, OSPF, VRRP/HSRP, VLANs, Ethernet technologies, ACL, VPNs, SNMP
  • General knowledge of VoIP technologies including QoS
  • Experience of Aruba ClearPass Access Management System
  • Experienced in creating Network topology diagrams or has relevant knowledge using network topology mapper
  • Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Well organized, strong teamwork approach and team motivator, self-driven, flexible and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

  • If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
