Overview

The Role:

The primary focus of the Software Engineer is to enhance and create connected vehicle, cloud-based products that add value to existing Kapsch clients and that appeal to future clients. In this role, the Software Engineer will design, develop, maintain, test and deploy various software components in cloud infrastructure, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design software components using object-oriented design principles
  • Implement software designs through iterative detailed design, code, and unit test cycles
  • Create monitoring and alerting capabilities for services deployed
  • Troubleshoot and correct software defects
  • Produce software documentation following company software process and templates
  • Participate in software product review meetings and team meetings
  • Collaborate with other developers and product managers
  • Use code repositories to ensure transparency in changes
  • Travel in this role is expected to be around 5%

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in a Computer Science field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in a production software environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Python, Django, Postgres and Java
  • 1+ years of experience with container technology such as Docker
  • Familiar with Angular 2 or higher
  • Able and willing to travel up to 5% annually

Our top Candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Angular 2 or higher
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud providers
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Experience working on Linux platforms
  • Experience with Connected Vehicles (CV)  / Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
