Overview

The role

We are looking for a Full stack engineer to join our team in Budapest to help us create software for data-driven smart electric motors.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and databases. You should also be able to work in a team, but also to be autonomous, and should have a strong desire to create both extensible and visually appealing end products.

What you will need

Everyone loves bullets in job postings, so here’s some. If you are interested, check if you:

  • have experience in web application development
  • are comfortable joining a meeting in English
  • know front-end languages (HTML, JS, CSS)
  • have experience with LAMP or ME*N stack, at minimum you know what they are
  • know at least two backend/scripting languages (NodeJS, Python, TS, C#, PHP, and so on)
  • understand databases, SQL and at least one database product
  • can use  Git and GitHub

Can you tick these, too?

  • I like when I encounter a non trivial problem, and I have no clue how I will get past it. I research it and come up with a suitable solution
  • I like finding my own way a lot better than being told what to do
  • I have desire to learn new programming languages, concepts, systems
  • I have communication and teamwork skills, everyone loves working with me
  • I have a great attention to detail

What you should know

You are joining a very small team in the very early phase of our journey – our first working prototype has just rolled out. You are going to build things from ground zero. We have a bright perspective and solid goals, but no user manual on how to get there. You will have NO product team conveniently paving roadmaps with colorful user stories. In return, you will have a core impact on technical direction we are taking, you will not need to follow dumb rules and you will not be developer employee #94.

If you are strongly concerned about the above, you should not apply. If you want to know more, then let’s talk!

Why Linear

Linear Labs was created by the original founders of Ustream, a successful Silicon Valley – Hungarian startup, which was eventually bought by IBM. Back in 2007, live video on the Internet was an explosive emerging thing, and we believe that smart electric motors and green energy is similarly going to have a great impact on the world.

The company has two locations: Fort Worth Texas, where the motors are manufactured and Budapest, where the IOT solution and Cloud software is built on top of the motors.
