LUCID is writing the future of music as medicine.

We develop therapeutic music experiences to help promote mental health & wellness across various clinical indications. By unlocking the power of music and AI, we curate personalized music therapy that’s backed by neuroscience.

LUCID’s multidisciplinary team consists of artists, scientists, and engineers.  Our respective passions and expertise unite us all at the intersection of music and mental health. We are a human-centric company with a focus on empathy and accessibility. We are currently a fully remote company based in Toronto, Canada.

Job Description

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying and managing LUCID cloud pipelines and data structures. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the application while developing a strong DevOps infrastructure to support a scaling user base with a growing storage of Big Data. You will work directly with and report to the VP Engineering to architect the optimal cloud structure while continuously optimizing the platform. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, elegant and extensible design and quality products are imperative. You believe in failing fast, detecting fast, fixing fast and deploying fast.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Finalizing and implementing cloud architectures as directed by the VP Engineering
  • Writing well-documented, high performance, scalable, secure, reliable and maintainable code.
  • Deploy finished code using designated CI/CD processes
  • Perform Kubernetes system administration tasks
  • Build and maintain DevOps infrastructure
  • Write code using a ‘test-driven development’ framework
  • Perform quality assurance tasks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2-5 years of professional experience with cloud-based software
  • Proficient with agile, Git and DevOps
  • Experience with various types of instances on at least one major cloud platform (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, etc.)
  • Proficient with Python and at least one of the following: Java, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, Node, ASP.NET
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Ability to think creatively to solve real-world business problems
  • Ability to work in a global collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with Multi-media Streaming Frameworks (ex: gstreamer)
  • Experience with Audio Signal Processing Libraries (ex: pydub)
  • Proficient with mobile development (Android/iOS)
  • Experience with MLOps and BigData
