Senior Software Engineer (US Remote OK)

Frontend Masters is the premier training platform for front-end engineering skills, Node.js, and beyond! Nearly everyone at Frontend Masters writes code, and our customers are engineers who appreciate high-quality software and learning interfaces. We’ve been around for eight years. We’re bootstrapped, privately owned, and profitable. We have front-end in our name, but most of the action takes place behind the scenes and under the hood.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our small but experienced team. The team works across disciplines, including web, API, cron, cloud, database, and CDN.

In particular, we’re looking for:
– 5+ years of professional software development experience
– Meaningful experience working with the Go programming language
– Ability to write efficient and well-designed code
– Experience with relational databases
– Experience working within a CICD environment
– Baseline knowledge of AWS, specifically EC2, S3, RDS, ElasticCache, Lambda, and Cloudfront
– Experience working on systems at scale
– Comfortable working in Linux operating system environment

Bonus:
– A record of success working remotely
– Patterns and best practices in software architecture
– Experience with CICD environments
– Experience with Docker and AWS ECS
– Familiarity with front-end technologies
