The opportunity

As the Engineering Lead for Technology Infrastructure Integration, you will be accountable for application technology and infrastructure strategy, planning design and continuous improvement, working with various service providers to lead all aspects of implementation. You will lead activities around planning, gathering and translating technical requirements into infrastructure solution designs in alignment with business Product & Delivery needs.

 

Who you’ll work with

You will work with multiple internal and external parties to maintain relationships with key vendors and internal partners. This is a senior technical role that resides in our Technology Infrastructure team and supports business Product & Delivery at Ontario Teachers’. You will work under the guidance of our Senior Manager, Product Delivery Support.

 

What you’ll do

Analyse existing application platforms to ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of the organization
Recommend alternative technologies and improvements based on market research and business requirements
Lead the design and review processes for new Infrastructure systems and application platform services.
Lead the creation of detailed plans/approaches for the integration of new systems and application platform services into existing infrastructure design/architecture
Evaluate the success of a new system integration, identifying best practices and lessons learned to incorporate into future integration plans
Ensures application and system design are in alignment with technology and OTPP operational standards. This includes compliance with standard operating procedures on application, middleware, database, network, and technology infrastructure aspects.
Mentor and coach junior technical staff and managed services staff
What you’ll need

Expert understanding of application platforms and infrastructure technologies with server hardware and operating system (Windows, Linux) and server virtualization
Significant experience in the design of distributed, high availability application platforms (Charles River IMS, SimCorp Dimension) and Cloud environment (Azure preferred)
In-depth knowledge of security and authentication mechanisms (e.g. SAML, Claims Based Auth, certificate based auth)
3+ years of design experience in Enterprise Infrastructure Services running various Compute, Network & Storage ecosystems
3+ years in hands-on experience in, deployment and administration of application platforms (Windows, Linux)
2+ years in application platforms automation – infrastructure as code (Ansible)
Excellent capability to manage deliverables, influence design, make recommendations, facilitate decisions, lead technical staff and organize work as it relates to the management level within Teachers’
