Overview

Crossing behavioral science and audited artificial intelligence, pymetrics matches job-seekers to roles where they are most likely to succeed, fairly and accurately. We are growing our amazing team to support our mission of using data to make the workplace more transparent and less biased.

We are looking for a talented data scientist with strong machine learning experience to join our experimental machine learning team. Data scientists on the XML team contribute to the research, prototyping and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning processes used throughout pymetrics to match job candidates to roles, mitigate potential algorithmic bias, and explain model complexity to users. You will work on an academically diverse team (with backgrounds in behavioral science, computer science, linguistics, machine learning, and statistics) to test new methods and optimize existing solutions.

We’re looking for someone with knowledge of machine learning principles and the ability to deploy code into production. Example work includes deploying new model imputation methods, and working with product managers to devise more intuitive model explanations for clients. We value an ability to communicate with a bright team from varied backgrounds, and the initiative to approach interesting problems independently and with scientific rigor. This role will be based out of our NYC headquarters, but we’re open to remote US candidates.

  • Solid foundation in machine learning models, processes, and theories, with the ability to evaluate different algorithmic approaches
  • Working knowledge of statistics and probability, with the ability to discuss the merits of different metrics for different solutions
  • Embodiment of our core company values of motivation, positivity, curiosity, humility and integrity, and buy-in for our company mission of eliminating bias in hiring
  • Openness to communication with a remote team
