The Release Manager is responsible for defining, managing, and coordinating release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Cut release branches after software code freeze and then close them out after the final release artifacts are created
Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Go/No-Go reviews
Produce Deployment Plans, Runbooks, Implementation Plans, and upgrade procedures
Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists.
Work with the test team and product owners  to ensure application releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations
Communicate release details and schedules with the team
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
Experience assessing risk and balancing conflicting priorities
Git expertise
Experience in Java, JavaScript, Python, and potentially Kotlin. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Understanding of Gitflow and how to manage multiple concurrent development efforts
Experience with large complex systems with hard dependencies.
Experience with Maven, Parent POM management, BOM.
Experience with build automation configuration such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
Experience maintaining system upgrades with a mix of automation and manual steps.
Lead and coordinate the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
Understanding of Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (CD/CI) pipelines
Ability to coordinate multiple teams to ensure tasks are completed on time with the release schedule
EVEN BETTER
Experience with CentOS/RHEL and managing software through Yum
Experience with IoC Concepts.
Experience resolving merge conflicts.
