Job Summary

The role of SAP PM Specialist Solution Design is responsible for assisting CN in the implementation of the SAP PM S/4HANA solution.
Participating to workshops with various stakeholders, understanding user & business requirements and translating into Business Blueprint or Functional Specification document.
Act as liaison between the business functions and the technical team.
Work with the Project Manager in creating work breakdown structures, delivery timeline and effort estimates.
Ensures documentation and communication elements are maintained and meet the appropriate policy and CN Standards.
Collaborate in the testing plan to make sure test cases are well covered.

Main Responsibilities

Technology Blueprint / Software Design

Support the Enterprise & Solution Architect during their requirements phase as well as providing expertise on current capabilities to build the high level architecture.
Translate a portion of the high-level solution architecture document into existing capabilities available within SAP PM (S/4HANA).
If needed, define new capabilities required by the project as identified by architecture; ensure maximum automation in the design for deployment.
Instruct and host workshops to determine sizing.
Lead medium complexity blueprint or participate in high complexity blueprint.
Responsible for ensuring the blueprint, which covers SAP Plant Maintenance (S/4HANA), complies with CN Information Security.
Collaborate with various technical teams to evaluate design alternatives, optimize design solution and minimize impact to performance.

Project Delivery Planning

Estimate efforts of work breakdown structure elements associated SAP Plant Maintenance.
Ensure alignment of the schedule with the functional/support team in line with Release’s scope.
Define testing strategy and align with the functional/support team.
Support the deployment of production applications and provide post-production support related to the custom system enhancements, and integration points.
Identify any special requirements for transition-to-core.

Technology Roadmap

Research market for innovation and emerging technologies aligned with business strategy and direction.
Maintain catalog of existing capabilities within SAP Plant Maintenance and provide advisory services to various technology owners.
Research ways to improve and automate deployment of existing and new capabilities.
Provide leadership in the roadmap within the SAP Plant Maintenance; making recommendations to ensure components relevant; otherwise trigger introduction of new technology as well as containment or retirement.

Skills/Knowledge

Strong knowledge in SAP Plant Maintenance.
Experience with Linear Asset Management is an asset.
Familiar with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
Ability to translate business requirements into system specifications.

Requirements

Education/Certification/Designation

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree & experience.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan/perform test activities (e.g. unit, integration, performance and user acceptance).
Ability to estimate efforts and costs required for delivery.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects at the same time.
Very good functional documentation skills.
Very good communication and presentation skills.
Proactive, able to plan, address or mitigate technical risk.
Ability to clarify requirements and ensure solution meets business needs.
Strong sense or prioritization for meeting deadlines.


Experience

Minimum of 5-10 years of overall work experience
Minimum 3 full life cycle implementations of SAP PM.
Experience integrating Plant Maintenance module with external systems.
Good knowledge of SAP structures, configuration standards, objects dependencies and tables.
Experience configuring and performing functional setup of Plant Maintenance module.
Experience in integration with other SAP modules such as asset management, finance, controlling, material management, quality management and project systems.

Working Conditions

Occasional business travel (in Canada and US) in accordance with CN policy
