We are looking for a senior software engineer with experience in C# and/or Golang to help take the Synopsys Code Sight IDE plug-in to the next level.  This job is about developing IDE plug-ins (for IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Eclipse) which integrates with Synopsys’ state-of-the-art products, including Coverity static analysis and Black Duck software composition analysis.  We are evolving the way secure and quality software is delivered.  You will be responsible for improving and extending the user interface experience that thousands of developers will use.

Senior Desktop Applications Developer

The ideal candidate is experienced with IDE plug-in development and design, has solid architecture skills, is passionate about building great developer tools, strives to produce quality code (code isn’t finished until it is tested!), enjoys delivering a great user experience that solves real world problems, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities
– Provide feedback on code and architectural approaches implemented by the team
– Collaborate with the engineering and UX team to drive key design outcomes, document / communicate architectural expectations and ensuring alignment
– Design, implement and drive features for the Code Sight plug-ins for multiple IDEs on supported platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)
– Investigate and fix product issues reported by customers
– Participate in agile scrum team activities (daily stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming)
– Provide technical leadership to the development team

Key Qualifications
– BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field/degree
– 5+ years of development experience
– Desire to create an exceptional user experience
– Experience in architecture/design and in writing technical specs
– Experience with desktop application development
– C# and Visual Studio development experience
– Solid object-oriented development and design skills
– Experience with Mac, Windows, and/or Linux platforms
– Comfortable using command line
– Working expertise in multi-threaded programming

Nice to have
– Background in user interface technologies and design
– Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio Code plugin development
– WPF or comparable UI technologies
– Golang, JavaScript, gRPC development
– Some cloud experience (docker, Kubernetes, could deployment, horizontal scaling, zero downtime updates)
