Overview

Position Summary: Sevatec, Inc. is looking for a talented senior-level User Experience Subject Matter Expert (UX-SME) to add to their dynamic team supporting a highly visible federal contract. The objective of User Experience/ User Interface support is to provide a clean intuitive user-centric design to internal and external web and mobile applications across a myriad of devices. The UI and UX shall be in compliance with standards as identified by the Government.

Responsibilities:

Serve as an expert consultant during the detailed design phase by reviewing interaction design, copy, and visual design for usability and web design best practices.
Ensure the design meets Section 508 Accessibility standards as required by the Federal Government, the Department of Homeland Security, and the United States Citizenship & Immigration Service.
Provide consultation and support services for developing all applications following a mobile-first development strategy using Responsive Web Design best practices.
Develop UI/UX designs in accordance with the USCIS design template and coordinate design strategies with developers and business lines for systems planning and implementation for all new and legacy applications.
Work with information architects, content strategists, technologists, design team and other UX/web design experts to create clean page layouts and intuitive interfaces providing extraordinary user experiences.
Develop strategies and tactics for projects including websites, intranets, mobile applications etc.
Create documentation that establishes the vision for the project and can be used to guide decisions throughout the project lifecycle
Create client-facing deliverables including user personas, sitemaps, wireframes, usability audits, heuristic evaluations, usability testing reports, user scenarios, flows, and prototypes
Create compelling interactions and experiences that support desired user behaviors
Create intuitive administrative user experiences that enable clients to easily update and maintain web content using a CMS back-end

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of related experience.
5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, UX strategy, and usability research and testing
Experience delivering code using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, and/or Backbone, with the ability to implement and support modern JavaScript code.
Experience delivering products that work across the range of browsers and platforms
Experience using modern CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap to deliver responsive, mobile aware products
Understanding of 508 Accessibility standards.
Excellent understanding of the life cycle process of website development (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation)
Experience with web design using (Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium, Sublime Text, Atom, etc…)
Excellent communication and writing skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience).

Security Clearance:  Must be a US Citizen and have or are able to obtain a Government Agency Suitability Clearance.
