Data Processing Developer
The S&P Global Automotive data management team designs and develops solutions in Oracle and AWS environments, defines best practices, and provides guidance to other project teams on their solutions. The automotive data management team is a tight knit groups that tackles some of the most interesting challenges in the organization. The work is varied and the growth and learning opportunities are endless. We pride ourselves on being a highly collaborative team that makes the most of the unique skills each team members brings. The selected candidate can be based out of Monterrey or Mexico City, MX. A combined schedule of onsite and remoted work required. Candidate will need to travel to Monterrey at least once every quarter.
This resource will be responsible for development of solutions for complex, data-focused processes across multiple platforms. This resource will also be responsible for executing data analysis to understand the data, identify the appropriate handling, and design data processing solutions. This role will have the opportunity to interface with teams throughout the automotive space and impact the success of a variety of products.

Understand current state data processing solutions, business landscape, data processing environments and the data available in various environments.
Participate in design activities to identify the data processing approach, data storage, environments, and tools.
Evaluate all data processing options, environments, technologies, and data sets and identify the best solution approach.
Develop data processing solutions across multiple platforms, including AWS and Oracle.
Utilize best-fit tools across environments to develop data processing solutions.
Develop data processing solutions that are supportable, flexible, secure, reliable, and efficient.
Build data processing solutions that meet requirements, both functional and non-functional.
Execute in-depth impact analysis on current state data processing solutions for proposed changes.
Modify current state data processing solutions to meet requirements.
Migrate solutions from legacy technology to new technology.
Execute unit testing for developed solutions.
Perform data analysis on data to identify trends and/or data processing rules.
Identify processing rules to prepare the data for integration into downstream processes.
Provide results of analysis in an easily consumable format such as scorecards, spreadsheets, and specifications.
Work with other teams and developers to create scalable and sustainable solutions.
Participate in creation of design documentation, including functional data models, processing flows, and technical specifications.
Transition processes to operational support.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Highly skilled in PL/SQL, package creation, and promotion.
Able to create data flow diagrams and data models in Visio and other modeling tools.
Able to analyze data and reach conclusions based on results.
Experienced in working with relational database systems.
Demonstrated ability to design data processing solutions.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and reach conclusions based on results.
Proven data analysis experience. Experience with complex data systems a plus.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving skills.
Provides thought leadership on creative solutions to solve business problems.
Able to document in a succinct manner, organizing thoughts well and using proper formatting and grammar. Documentation levels include technical, business, process, and presentations.
Able to articulate thoughts and issues clearly via verbal communication.
Able to summarize complex concepts and data analysis results for communication purposes.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail. Produces clean work of high quality.
Able to work independently with guidance and oversight and think through all implications of potential solutions. Takes initiative on and ownership of tasks within area of responsibility. Completes work to a point where it is fully fleshed out and validated and requires only review and approval.
Able to accept input from and work interactively with others to ensure the best approach is identified.
Able to work effectively on virtual teams.
Motivated self-learner with new technologies and skills.
Knowledge of AWS, S3 data storage, and data processing options.
Knowledge of Hadoop, Cloudera, or big data processing.
Knowledge of Python or Spark.
Knowledge of data architecture best practices and major areas of data management such as data governance, data modeling, master data management, data quality, data warehousing.
Experience with data warehousing concepts and practices.
