Site Reliability Engineer – Escalations
Thought Industries
As a Site Reliability Engineer focused on escalations you will be working with and supporting the growing Infrastructure and Development Escalation team to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of our platform’s automated cloud infrastructure. As an engineer you will have many opportunities to expand your skill set and advance your career while you work alongside the larger, distributed team to improve the business of learning in the cloud environment. ****This is a fully remote role, however you have to be based out of the U.S. or Canada. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time.
Job Requirements:
Experienced in:Debugging, maintaining, monitoring, and testing in a production cloud infrastructure.
Capturing, organizing and prioritizing production bugs and regressions.
Keeping complex
infrastructures up-to-date and available.
Working as part of a team on a shared codebase.
Container-based deployment (e.g. K8s).
AWS and its various offerings.
At least one flavor of linux and its setup and maintenance.
Maintaining a production application across multiple regions.
Fluent with one scripting language (e.g. bash, python, ruby).
Fluent with Node.js
As an Escalations Engineer, you will:
Work closely with the escalations team to resolve platform issues.
Closely monitor, categorize, and resolve issues that affect platform availability.
Understand the requirements and challenges of debugging applications in the cloud.
Gain an understanding of our AWS-based infrastructure.
Be mindful of risk-management and testing new production changes thoroughly.
Automate your problems away.
As an Engineer, you will:
Contribute to, maintain and refactor Thought Industries’ internal codebase.
