At Unum ID, we’re building a single identity online for each human offline. We provide “sharified” identity: shared, verified identity. Our software links many verifications about a user into one identity that’s shared across companies. This makes knowing who’s who online easy, inexpensive, and secure.
We are a Seed-stage startup founded by brothers out of Stanford and backed by Samsung and Draper Associates. We’re a scrappy team that believes online identity is broken and are on a mission to rebuild it from the ground up. With Unum ID, personal information is decentralized, encrypted behind a biometric, and controlled only by the end-user. This eliminates account takeover attacks, severely mitigates data breaches, and reduces verification costs by a factor of 10. It’s hard to state how revolutionary this is.

Description:
We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Developer to join our team in building a web and mobile SaaS solution that helps companies instantly and securely share and access verified user data. You will need to be strong across the stack, but especially on the back end, building secure, stable, and scalable software. A great full-stack developer will have a strong, generalist technical background with excellent development skills and will be extremely thoughtful about how technical decisions impact the customer experience. You are experienced in a range of technologies and are excited to learn whatever is necessary to build a scalable SaaS solution that meets our customers’ needs.
We are interested in self-motivated individuals with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize shifting workloads in what is a rapidly evolving technology landscape. We need team players who can easily function in a collaborative, high demand, performance-driven environment.
Job requirements:
Work with the product owner (our co-founder Liam!) and the technical team to define product roadmap and milestones
Develop front-end and back-end components of SaaS solution. Our current stack includes React, NodeJS (TypeScript), Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Complete code reviews for teammates
Communicate clearly with the team to deliver high-quality code
Ensure your software meets all requirements of quality, security, extensibility etc.
Skills and attributes for success
Proven experience as a full-stack software developer (required)
Experience in software development and coding in various languages (esp. NodeJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, etc.) (required)
Experience with modern JavaScript, NodeJS, or TypeScript (required)
Understanding of software quality assurance principles (required)
A technical mindset with great attention to detail (required)
B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science (required)
Experience with security and privacy principles including experience with applied cryptography, pen testing, etc. (preferred)
Experience with container-based microservices including Kubernetes (preferred)
