Tech Hiring Events for Employers
Tech hiring events put your hiring team in a room with pre-vetted software engineers for one evening of back-to-back conversations. HackerX runs invite-only hiring events in 175+ cities and a global virtual series, so companies meet up to 100 engineers in a night instead of screening one resume at a time.

What is a tech hiring event?
A tech hiring event is a recruiting event where employers meet engineering candidates face to face, in person or online. Unlike a career fair, a HackerX hiring event is invite-only: every developer in the room applied, was screened, and came to talk to hiring teams. Employers buy an employer ticket for a city, bring one to three interviewers, and run short structured conversations for about two and a half hours.
How a HackerX hiring event works
- Pick a city and date. Browse the employer events calendar and get an employer ticket for the city you are hiring in. Virtual events are available for distributed teams.
- Tell us your roles. We match the guest list to the stacks and seniority you need, from junior full-stack to staff engineers, data scientists, and engineering managers.
- Meet up to 100 engineers in one evening. Rapid-interview format: candidates rotate through employer tables in timed rounds, so every conversation is a real screen, not small talk.
- Follow up the same week. You leave with a shortlist and contact details. Most teams move strong matches straight to on-site or offer.
Who attends
Software engineers across the full stack, mobile, data and machine learning, DevOps and infrastructure, plus engineering leads and managers. Attendees range from early-career to senior and staff level, and many come to compare options rather than to apply, so you meet people job boards never surface.
Employer pricing
- Employer ticket for a public hiring event: from $495 per event, depending on city. Includes a table for your hiring team for the full evening.
- HackerX Connect: source on demand between events from the same vetted pool, from $249 per month with a 7-day free trial. See plans.
- Host or private event: provide the venue and own the room, or commission an invite-only event built around your roles. Host an event or design a private event.
There are no placement fees. You pay for the event, not per hire.
Why teams choose hiring events over job boards
- One evening replaces weeks of resume screening and phone screens.
- Engineering leaders in the room close candidates faster than a recruiter email.
- Local employer brand: the engineers you meet talk to the engineers you did not.
- Reach passive candidates who attend to compare options, not to apply.

Tech hiring events: frequently asked questions
How much does a tech hiring event cost for employers?
Employer tickets for public HackerX hiring events start at $495 per event, depending on the city. Private single-company events and hosted events are quoted separately. There are no placement fees.
How many candidates will we meet?
Events host up to 100 vetted engineers. In the rapid-interview format, each employer table meets a large share of the room over the evening.
Are the candidates screened?
Yes. HackerX events are invite-only. Every attendee applied, was reviewed for relevant engineering experience, and confirmed they are open to new roles.
Do you run virtual tech hiring events?
Yes. The virtual series uses the same timed-round format online, so remote-first and globally distributed teams can hire from anywhere.
What roles can we hire for?
Software engineering across backend, frontend, full-stack, mobile, data and machine learning, DevOps, security, and engineering management. Tell us your open roles and we tune the guest list.
How is this different from a career fair?
Career fairs are open to the public and built around booths and resumes. A HackerX hiring event is invite-only, capped in size, and structured as timed conversations, so your team interviews rather than collects resumes.
