As we expand and grow our product and SaaS business, we at Foster Moore International are looking for an experienced and passionate Scrum Master who can help play a pivotal role to the long-term success of Foster Moore. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the facilitation and representation of the Scrum framework along with coaching / mentoring of team members to a range of projects.

The role

Our Scrum Master will be passionate and responsible for the facilitation and representation of the Scrum framework and removing impediments from the team. You will be a scrum subject-matter expert with a self-motivation to be creative and efficient in proposing approaches to complex problems. You will demonstrate an innate ability for continuous improvement within the teams and promoting self-management and constantly improving work standards.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Organise and facilitate the Scrum process including daily stand-up meetings, Sprint reviews, Retrospectives, Sprint Planning, Product backing refinement, and other Scrum-related events.

·         Encourage the delivery teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

·         Provide metrics for the team to allow them to improve and keep customers happy.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to facilitate and work with diverse personality types.

·         Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.

·         Thorough understanding of the trade-offs between velocity and quality.

·         Ability to help a team galvanise and find their own identity and reach their full potential.

·         Thorough understanding of the challenges and idiosyncrasies of software development and project implementations.

·         Must be “self-motivated” as well as creative and efficient in proposing approaches to complex problems.

·         Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with other team members.

 

About our Scrum Master:

·         Minimum of 2 years as a practicing Scrum Master or Team Facilitator within an IT company and at least 5 years of experience working within a technology environment.

·         Ability to use Jira effectively across multiple projects and teams.

·         Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.

·         Exceptional interpersonal, organization and time management skills.

·         A relevant tertiary level degree (e.g., computer science, software engineering or Project Management) or equivalent experience.

·         Previous experience with project delivery perspective preferred.

·         Project Management qualifications (PMI / Prince2) would be beneficial for the role but not necessary.

·         Previous experience with project delivery perspective preferred but not essential.

·         Experience working in a “servant leader” model to continue building positive teams and placing high priority on the requirements of the team.
