Overview

A DevOps Engineer at Verimatrix is responsible for the creation, deployment and operations of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable or the Internet. The DevOps Engineer leads with his/her teammates to build, test, deliver, and monitor high-performing, scalable, high-quality products. In this role, the Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, automate and streamline our operations and processes, and build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. A successful Engineer will be proactive, interactive, creative and flexible.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Deploy and manage cloud environments with AWS
Support engineering teams to automate manual efforts such as building, testing, and deploying
Operate and maintain tools for systems operations
Operate network, security and identity services in compliance with corporate AWS governance and industry best practices.
Keep up to speed with industry best practices and trends in DevOps & Engineering
Become an expert at AWS serverless architecture
Others as assigned

This position reports to Director of Cloud Operations within the Engineering department.

Required Qualifications:
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with a significant workload in high-ambiguity, high-volatility environments that demand adaptability and a strong sense of urgency.
Advanced problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail
Good presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in English across geographies, cultures, and time zones.
2 or more years of related work experience
4 or more years of hands-on operational, DevOps or production services experience
Coding & Scripting experience, ex: Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js
Solid understanding of Linux and networking concepts
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS or equivalent)
Understanding of source control management (git)
Understanding of cryptography principals
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity maintaining infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation or similar)
Familiarity with AWS serverless solutions (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc)
Experience working with geographically distributed teams
