Overview
An amazing all rounder with the desire to jump in and deliver exciting solutions to complex problems.
We’re looking for an absolute gem of an all-rounder – Front-End, Back-End, DevOps, Systems Integrations, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Guru. The lot. You must love getting your hands dirty and getting stuck into complex problems where code first is not necessarily the solution. Even if you don’t have all the skills yet, but this sounds like who you would like to be then read on.
You’ll need to have vision, be plugged into the latest technologies, be prepared to work hard (ish) to create the foundations of a business with huge global ambitions.
We are evolving our platform that can handle huge amounts of data. One that will be accessed by thousands of clients around the world. To do that we need to be able to efficiently crunch data from a number of different sources, store it, analyse it and then make it searchable and easy to digest.
Ideally you’ll have been involved in a successful startup or tech company, even better would be one making use of data and machine learning in smart and interesting ways. Don’t worry if not though, just be aware that you if you join us you will experience far more in a short time than you will in most jobs, so you need to be ready to embrace it.
You won’t have worked anywhere like Tällt before. We’ll demand more from you than you thought possible. Equally we’ll give you more than you could imagine you’d ever get from a job.

We help our clients access insight, awaken innovation and unlock potential.
We do this by tracking the investment into millions of startups and drawing on our connections with accelerators, VCs and corporate innovators around the world.
This provides unique intelligence on the global new venture landscape with which we’re able to help our clients develop, refine and execute innovation strategies, and build, buy or partner with new ventures.
The skills you need:
Some of these aren’t really skills. They’re more personal traits and/or experience. Either way we still need them.
Established track record in technical brilliance and product creation
Demonstrable understanding of technology trends across a broad range of platforms
Flourish under the pressure of demanding clients and colleagues
Full stack skills, initially with a front end bias, but keen to get involved in heavy data crunching back end work.
Ruby on Rails (or similar modern language and MVC framework)
Relational DB experience (noSQL also great to have)
AWS – basics e.g. EC2 and S3
DevOps
Testing including unit tests, system tests and mocking. Selenium or similar experience would be beneficial
Git
Beneficial skills that would be a real bonus.
Experience designing and building complex systems to process large volumes of data, both structured and unstructured
Python
Linux
Machine Learning – in particular Natural Language Processing
Analytics or BI
AWS – more advanced use of services, e.g. Lamda, Sage Maker, Comprehend, Cloud Formation, Kinesis
Stream processing – e.g. Spark or similar
Sphinx/Thinking Sphinx or similar search engine
Webscraping

Keen to learn and happy to teach yourself
A team player is a must. We have a mix of incredible skills and experience and you need to work across all areas of the business.
Other things you should probably know:
We’re en route to being a very big company, very quickly. We’re still early in our journey and want to work with people who can grow with us. Entrepreneurial and creative skills are a must.
We’re looking for someone who loves innovation and startup activity. You’ll be asked to wear a number of hats, but the most important focus is on helping us build an amazing company.
In addition it’s probably worth noting you’ll have no set working hours, no hierarchy, loads of holiday, a shiny PC or Mac and access to the most influential and successful entrepreneurs in the world.
