The Opportunity

As Vexev’s Frontend and/or Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be imagining, architecting and building out our core 3D visualisation and collaboration platform. This platform will be used to:

  • Transform raw ultrasound signals into mind-blowing 2D and 3D visualisations
  • Be the cutting edge vascular imaging reporting solution
  • Provide diagnostic insights through visualization of historical scans

The platform will revolutionise the discipline of vascular imaging. This is a technology that will be used day-in-day out, and will become the new standard of reporting.

To create this platform, you will be working directly with the Vexev engineering and product development teams. You will be empowered with a high level of autonomy to make thoughtful and pragmatic technology choices.

The Role

Responsibilities

  • Architect the technology stack for our web platform (frontend and/or backend)
  • Evolve the prototype into a commercial ready product ahead of market launch
  • Lay foundations that the future software team can build and scale upon – e.g. build efficient and reusable front/back end abstractions and systems
  • Set the bar for software engineering at Vexev

 

Ideal Requirements

–Frontend

  • Proven track record as an exceptional frontend engineer
  • Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components, including appropriate testing
  • Excellent skills in collaborating with others, especially in exploring application design and strategy
  • Experience with WebGL and popular abstractions, rendering pipelines, and 3D graphic fundamentals
  • High-level understanding of computational complexity (Big O)
  • Intimate knowledge of cross-browser development
  • Excellent computer science fundamentals

–Backend

  • Proven track record as an exceptional backend engineer
  • Demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust backend systems
    Development of service-based architectures
  • Systems and cloud design
  • Ability to write high-performing services and effective APIs
  • Testing and dependency injection
  • Excellent skills in collaborating with others, especially product design and strategy
  • Understanding of computational complexity (Big O)
  • Excellent computer science fundamentals

 

Nice-To-Have Requirements

  • Experience growing and leading effective engineering teams
  • Web development in Python (Flask/WSGI)
  • GCP/Google App Engine and other Google Cloud technologies
  • AWS Cloud for high performance computing and big data analytics
  • Protobuf and code-generation
  • Full-stack development of rich web applications using HTML/CSS/JS/ThreeJS
  • Exposure to machine learning, data processing and AI techniques
  • Experience with low-level software and electronics for control systems and robotics
  • Exposure to working in an early stage startup, ideally in the DeepTech or MedTech domain
