This is an exciting role to join a fast growing SAAS startup in the Aged Care space which i s doing amazing purpose driven work to improve seniors quality of life in Aged Care. Our program delivers personalised content ( videso/music/podcasts) to seniors and provide therapeutic benefit to those living with dementia via music as therapy. Our technology together with our training program and hardware solution is a world first and we have traction in hundreds of Aged Care homes in Aust and NZ and this is an opportunity to lead the development and rollout of the next version of our platform including builing and intergrated music solution.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, multi-tasker, and a team-player with an entrepreneurial flare who is looking to leverage their strong technical skills into a leadership and delivery role and be an integral part of our leadership team.
Design and document software architecture for security, scalability, reliability and interoperability and ensure we retain core IP as we scale
Work closely with CEO to make intelligent technology and resourcing choices to meet business objectives
Work closely with product team to develop and architect solutions to develop functional specs
Lead the development team from speccing to design build and testing product features.
Take full responsiblity for project managing tech team to deliver product features
Responsible for managing migration of existing clients across to new platform
Create and manage effective processes and infrastructure and cloud based software environments for software development
Complete code reviews to ensure software is delivered to appropriate standards
Recruit, manage and train the required development team, this will most likely be an offshore dev team or small team of remote directly employed dev resources
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Engineering full stack development. Proven experience in the following technologies: React, Angular, TypeScript, GraphQL,Node.js and Firebase , Angular.
Demonstrated experience in hiring, managing and leading a small team of Software Engineering staff to deliver projects on time. Ideally you have experience in managing an offshore team
Enjoy a role that allows you to be part manager of a team and part hands on developer and roll up your sleeves to get things done
Exceptional problems solving skills and effective communication style
Strong understanding of system development lifecycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations
Enjoy working in a dynamic startup environment comfortable with ambiguity and context switching and previous experience in scale up is ideal
Ability to demonstrate strategic vision and work with CEO to develop and drive the technical roadmap to meet the business’s objectives and assist to make commercial trade-offs around business focussed technical solutions
Have experience and confidence in presenting technical information to both tech savvy or less savvy, senior executives and stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, great soft and interpersonal skills, a love of working in teams and track record in work closely and collaborate with product team
Tertiary studies in a Software Engineering / Computer Science discipline
